Frequent trafic jams I dnt like about this localityis very clean but sometimes trafic jams are most irritating thing I have ever seen

I have been living in this locality for more then twenty years. Diamond park is situated in the southern part of kolkata. It is a sub locality of joka. The four lane national Highway named Diamond Harbor road passed through diamond park. Which connects it to the rest of the city. IIM- Calcutta is really close to the locality. Some neighbouring localities are thakurpur, 3A, das para etc. Some of the well-known apartments of diamond park are Prabhuji apartment, pratima apartment, the nest, diamond tower, etc. Diamond park is connected to the other parts of the city by Diamond Harbor road, James long sarani and mahatma gandhi road. Metro stations are located at the distance of 7 and 8 kms via mahatma gandhi road. The kolkata railway station is 27km away. And the netaji subhash chandra bose airport is 35 kms away. For education many schools such as kv.iim.joka, vivekananda mission school, st Andrews school, st Mary's convent school are situated within 2kms. And for colleges- vivekananda college, vivekananda womens College etc are nearby. Some hospitals which are situated nearby are esic joka, swadesh basu hospital, Kasturi nursing home, Apolo, etc. Shopping malls such as South City Mall(11kms), metro plaza(13km), lake mall(11kms). Super markets such as more supermarket, sasta taza, jio mart is nearby. Many grocery shops are situated in this locality such as guru nanak store, basay store, maa tara bhandar, Deepu store, sen brother store. Mostly there are flats in this locality.and the surroundings are also pretty clean. The streets are mostly well lit. And at night it is pretty safe as the security guard would frequently patrol. One vegetable market is situated near the main gate. And bigger markets are Available in nearby localities such as thakur pukur or Behala. There is a pond in the centre of the locality. Which is very pretty and surrounded by a little park called nibedita park. Which is suitable for kids playing or morning walks. People living here are also pretty good natured and friendly.

1. Firstly getting cabs or autos are kind of a hassle. As this locality is quite far from the main city. So returning back to home can be quite troublesome. As cabs sometimes refuse to come to this far. 2. Road are okaish. But most of the time some construction is happening. Or at rainy season because of clogged roads. It becomes unwalkable.

Green and clean locality. Safe surrounding. Very good communications available through bus, auto and upcoming metro rail. Hospitals are in walkable distance. Schools and colleges are nearby.

Presently new drainage system is being constructed so some roads are also under construction.
